Professor of pathology and liver pathology, Mansoura University and an active member of the scientific community locally and internationally, Dr. Khaled Zalata is a member of the American Academy of Pathology, member of the European Association of the Study of Liver (EASL), fellow of Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and fellow of Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Birmingham, liver transplant.

With 25 years of experience in the field and 87 international peer-reviewed published articles, Zalata is the pathologist of the Egyptian-European Group for Study of Liver Disease 2000-2016 and the chairperson of Pathology Department of Mansoura University 2014-2020. Zalata participated in several scientific initiatives and led others, among which is a liver pathology course presented in Sultan Qaboos University of Oman 2018.
