Dr Hossam Soliman is currently a professor HPB surgery department in the National Liver institute, Menoufia university. He was chairman of the liver transplant unit 2017-2018.
He is one of the founders and chief surgeon in many liver transplant programs especially the National hepatology and tropical medicine research institute in Cairo, Alexandria New medical center Hospital in Alexandria and Damanhor Teaching hospital in Damanhor City. He is a member of transplantation team in DAR Al -Foad hospital in Cairo also, he is the head of the pediatric transplant center in the same hospital.
He is a member of many official comities in the Egyptian ministry of health in the field of liver transplantation including the Egyptian Hepato-pancreato-biliary fellowship (MOH), the Scientific committee of liver transplantation of Specialized medical council, health insurance and waiting list presidential program.
He received his MBBCH from Cairo university in 1995, he then joined his residency in the National liver institute, Menoufia university where he completed his postgraduate education (Msc in in general surgery at the same university (2001). He then had a second master’s degree in HPB, and liver transplantation from followed by his M.D. degree in liver transplantation from the National liver institute, Menoufia university. Throughout his career he was highly specialized in HPB surgery and liver transplantation. He also helped the development and training centers all over the country to implement and practice HPB and liver transplantation in both ministry of health and university hospitals.
Prof Hossam Soliman is member of many national and international associations especially Egyptian society of laparoscopic surgeons, HPB Group of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons, Egyptian organ transplantation society, Egyptian society of surgeons.
He is a founder and a member of the pan-arab liver transplantation society, member of the international hepato-pancreato-biliary association( IHPBA) and International association of surgeons, gastroenterologist and oncologists (IASGO)
